The Dog Beach

Last weekend, I had an itch to take a day trip somewhere with the dogs. I felt like enjoying nature beyond our yard and garden. It didn't take much to convince Catch that a trip to the dog beach was in order.

We like to take our monkeys to an off leash beach in Santa Barbara called Arroyo Burro. It's about an hour and a half drive from our house, but as long as you time it right, it goes fast.  I particularly like the drive home--after a long day at the beach, I like to rest my head against the door and try to spot dolphins as we drive along the coast.

I didn't see any dolphins on Sunday, but I did spot some pretty crazy hounds. MY crazy hounds. Life would be so boring without these two.

And then, they were tired. (I love this picture--they NEVER sit together like this.)
